Space Saving Briefcase size Shredder

The size of a small briefcase, this is the shredder with a width of only 4″, enabling it to be easily tucked out-of-the-way. It automatically feeds up to six sheets of paper into its steel cross-cutting blades, producing unrecognizable 1/6″ x 1 1/4″ confetti. It also shreds, staples and small paper clips. At only 7 3/4 lbs., it is easy to maneuver into position. It can stand up vertically or lay horizontally for shredding, and its pull-out bin is easy to empty. With auto- and manual-start/stop, it also can be reversed to free jams.

Motorola Play Concept with All Touch No Buttons

The Moto Play is basically a full touch rectangle, with two movable parts at the back, that look as if joysticks were set apart from the handset. These moving parts uncover a camera and other features of the Motorola Play include the ability to charge via wireless, just by placing the phone on a charging base. The device uses a 7 megapixel camera that takes quick snaps and this photo sensor is hidden behind two sliding parts, that can be used as joysticks in the gaming experience and as controls for the camera. The left joystick is used for zooming, while the right one is used for taking pictures (shutter button). This looks like a very interesting Motorola concept phone, one that would fit youngsters, teens and people with an active lifestyle.

Crab-Like Robot helps in Stomach Cancer Treatment

Crab-Like Robot is supported by an endoscope and enters the patient’s body via his mouth. Attached to the endoscope is a miniature camera that allows the surgeon to examine the stomach as well as guide the robot arms by means of a monitor. Once the device is inside the body, its pincers are able to handle and remove the cancerous tissue. The hook then cuts the cancerous tissue off the stomach while helping to coagulate blood so that bleeding. Enterologist Lawrence Ho of Singapore’s National Universtity Hospital, who helped develop the crab-like assistant, applauds the capabilities of the robot. According to him, the robot is able to perform fine movements without shaking, as human hands do, when performing the tiny movements. Plus, it saves surgeons’ time and reduces the risk of infections by minimizing scarring. He believes that the robot will help treat stomach cancer, which is currently the second in the top list causes of most notorious cancers worldwide.

The See is a concept to make shopping simple, even for people who aren’t able to see what they are shopping for.The gadget involves two elements: a wrist-mounted barcode scanner and a pair of ear buds. When shopping, the user swipes the scanner over bar codes on products. The internal machinery then translates the coded info into speech and tells the shopper what the product is and, if applicable, the size and color. There are several questionable parts of this concept, such as how a blind person would find a bar code to begin with and how all of that technology will fit into such a small, thin wrist band. But if those issues could be ignored, the See is actually a smart tool that could stand to help countless visually impaired people get exactly what they go into the store to find.
